SSL check
Check a domain's SSL certificate: issuer, validity period, names, chain and TLS version.
About this tool
An SSL certificate allows the website to be served over https, encrypting the visitor's connection. If the certificate is missing, expired, or issued for the wrong name, browsers display a warning and many visitors will leave.
The tool connects to port 443 and reads the certificate sent by the server. You can see who issued it, its validity period, how many days remain, which names it covers, and the TLS version used.
The tool also checks that the certificate chain is trusted — that the server includes the intermediate certificate and that the certificate comes from an issuer trusted by browsers. If fewer than 14 days remain, you'll see a warning.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it say the chain is incomplete?
The server is only sending the end certificate, not the intermediate certificate. Some browsers handle this, but other clients and mobile devices do not. Install the full certificate chain on the server.
How long does a certificate last?
Let's Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days and renew automatically. Paid certificates are usually valid for one year.
The certificate doesn't cover www. What do I do?
The certificate must include all names in use — for example, both exempel.se and www.exempel.se. Order or renew it with both names included.
Is SSL included with web hosting at Admax?
Yes, all Admax web hosting plans include free SSL. The guide below shows you how to add it.
