How to read the report from the SEO test

The SEO test at admax.se crawls your homepage and up to 50 pages on your website and gives a score from 0 to 100. Here's how to read the results.

The score

  • 90–100, Excellent: your foundations are solid.
  • 70–89, Good, with room for improvement: no major obstacles, but there are things that could bring in more visitors.
  • 50–69, Needs attention: several issues are making it harder for Google to show your website.
  • 0–49, Serious problems: something is likely preventing your website from appearing as well as it could.

If the test finds a critical error — for example, that your homepage has noindex set — the score will be capped at 49 regardless of how well everything else looks. An error like that can mean pages don't appear in search at all.

The categories

The score is made up of eight categories: indexing, page basics (titles, descriptions and headings), content, performance, mobile, links, security, and local SEO and trust. Indexing and page basics carry the most weight, because a page that Google can't read or understand simply can't rank.

The findings and where to start

Each finding has a label showing how serious it is:

  • Critical and High: likely to be costing you traffic. Listed under Do now.
  • Medium: missed potential. Listed under Do soon.
  • Low: fine-tuning. Listed under Nice to do.
  • Advisory: good to know, but Google says it doesn't affect rankings. Not counted in the score.

Within each group, the changes that give the most impact for the least effort come first. Each finding explains what it means, which pages are affected, and what to do about it. If your website runs WordPress, it also tells you where in WordPress to find the relevant setting.

If the test only covered a few pages

Some websites block automated visits. When that happens, the test stops as soon as the website starts refusing access, and the report shows how many pages were checked. Blocked pages are never counted as errors. A manual analysis can cover the full website.

After making your fixes

Run the test again to see your new score. The report link you receive by email is valid for 90 days, and the report can be downloaded as a PDF. If you'd like help with what's left, you can book a walkthrough with an SEO specialist directly from the report.

Changes to your website typically show up in Google's search results after a few days or weeks. Follow up in Google Search Console.
