After making a change to the zone file for your domain, it can take up to 48 hours for the change to propagate fully. Normally the time depends on the TTL (time to live), which can vary between 1 and 4 hours by default.
Before switching email provider or moving a website, it's a good idea to lower the TTL to 5 minutes so that changes take effect quickly when you're ready to move.
When changing name servers, it typically takes 2 to 4 hours for the change to propagate.
