If images, fonts or styling are missing when you visit your site over https, or the browser shows that the page isn't fully secure, something on the page is loading over http://. This is called mixed content. The browser blocks images, scripts and stylesheets that aren't fetched securely.

Find what's loading over http

  1. Open the page in Chrome or Firefox.
  2. Press F12 and open the Console tab.
  3. Reload the page. Any Mixed Content warnings will show you exactly which URLs are loading over http.

Fix it in WordPress

  1. Check that both addresses under Settings and General start with https://.
  2. Older images and links in posts may still have http stored in the database. A plugin such as Really Simple SSL will rewrite them on the fly. See WordPress and SSL.
  3. To fix it properly in the database, use a search-and-replace plugin such as Better Search Replace. Search for http://mittforetag.se and replace it with https://mittforetag.se. Take a backup first.
  4. If the address appears in your theme settings, a widget or a page builder, change it there.

Other websites

Search your files for http:// and switch to https:// for everything the page loads: images, scripts, stylesheets and fonts. Your site also needs a valid certificate. See Add SSL to my web hosting.
